
Ben Mallaby is a twice BAFTA-nominated UK comedy director specialising in performance-led commercials, branded content and entertainment, with extensive experience directing high-profile actors, comedians and celebrity talent.
His commercial and branded work includes campaigns and films for Amazon, Disney, Samsung, Audible, BP, AA and other major brands and broadcasters.
Ben has directed talent including Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Hannah Waddingham, Stephen Fry and Theo James among others
His show BBC3 show Please Help, produced by Tiger Aspect and written by/ starring Lucy Pearman was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Short Form Programme in 2022. Available on iPlayer
He directed two seasons of Climaxed for BBC3 with Tiger Aspect and has directed shows for ITV and Comedy Central such as The Masked Singer Unmasked
From scripted commercials and branded entertainment to celebrity-led campaigns and social films, Ben’s work is built around character, comic timing and getting funny, natural performances on screen.
He has well over a million views on Vimeo for his shorts including three Staff Picks and a number of Short of the Week premieres. His shorts have played at festivals including the London Film Festival and Palm Springs. He was nominated for a Best Short Film BAFTA in 2014 with his film Island Queen. Available on iTunes.
